Secrets of stagnation

October 11, 2007

Despite my best efforts, it isn’t always possible to avoid the latest trends in modern life. Sometimes, unfortunately, one just has to adapt.

With three recently recruited trainees to call on for technical support, I’ll be able to keep the sort of electronic diary youngsters call a “blog” and reveal daily life at Highlet in real time.

Next meeting tomorrow 9.15am.

Thomas,

I produce dozens of gallons of fuel in my back yard every week, but I need a few good cows to produce the methane necessary to power the refiner. Maybe we can trade. What type of cows do you have, and have they been injected with anything? I am not interested in modern medecine or growth hormones. I like my cows natural and preferably with brown spots.

Hope to hear from you,
Dillan Dowl

So a firm with 4000 employees, a vision for where it wants to be and the best green credentials around, having not swapped kit every 3 years. I suspect the world could take a lesson here. Change is only necessary when it's necessary. (or as us old timers put it "if it aint broke don't fix it"......

Great, at last a firm that not changes their products every year and stops supporting earlier products. You really provides what customers need: product stability over generations. Why change, it just costs a lot of money.

Stagnation – why no, it’s truly positive to keep going at what you know works! Change - way over hyped – too radical, too visionary, too much risk – you can’t do it alone – at least seek help from someone...

Well, hats off to Highlet for not squandering money on consultants and large IT firms, don't you think?

I really love your company's attitude! One doesn't come accross this spirit of stabilty any more nowadays... Thinking about it I guess you are the only company still doing it.

I thought that "change" was something that happened to women of a certain age?
