Success breeds success

October 26, 2007

Following the Status Quo Awards and brilliant appearance by Mr Robert K. Smith on Thornhilly TV, he was interviewed by a team from Prospectives & Construction magazine.
Mr Smith recounted the principles of the Highlet spirit and recalled the vital role eyelets play in everyday modern life. Thanks to their total lack of development, Highlet's eyelets have set an example for businesses throughout the world to follow.

Debunking rumours

October 23, 2007

The craziest rumours are spreading about Highlet.

People are questioning the reality of our methods. However, these very methods enabled us to become the world’s #1 player in eyelets for safety footwear.

I can understand that one may be disturbed and even maddened by our practices. It is now time for everyone to soothe down and quit spreading the most insane gossip about Highlet.

On another subject: does anyone know a dot matrix printer wholesaler around Thornhilly? Our provider went out of business in 1989.

HIGHLET’S ACHIEVEMENTS FINALLY RECOGNISED

October 18, 2007

Throughout the world, “bloggers” are talking about Highlet:

Our business model, based on status quo, is without question responsible for this overwhelming success. Indeed, the “bloggers” keep underlining our great resistance to change.

For instance, the Highlet computer system I created traces back to 1982. My software were developed in Basic. For our all processes, we favour paper printouts. On every level, we fight the all-out digital frenzy affecting nowadays businesses. I am proud of working for Highlet, for every employee puts all their heart and energy into changing nothing.

We are proud of leading the way in this everyday challenge.

The dot matrix printer

October 15, 2007

An important decision was made by our department:

the currently out of order dot matrix printer from the second floor will be replaced with an identical model.

Indeed, in spite of its recent malfunction, this piece of hardware contributed to Highltet’s success, and one doesn’t just go and change printers after 25 years of glorious services. I especially think of the 400-page stock reports we print every Monday.

Moreover, it is important not to distress our staff, used to this dot matrix printer since 1982. That’s the way Highlet will remain Highlet.

25 years serving eyelets

October 12, 2007

My team and I celebrated with style 25 years of work on the database. The cream of the information systems department gathered around a splendid cake in the shape of an 8086 processor.

Miss Luhunnestingware, the punch key entry supervisor, gave a touching speech. A stalwart since Highlet was computerised in 1982, she acknowledged the endurance of our human and systems resources.

The party continued until 18h15, when we each went our separate ways.
