The dot matrix printer
October 15, 2007
An important decision was made by our department:
the currently out of order dot matrix printer from the second floor will be replaced with an identical model.
Indeed, in spite of its recent malfunction, this piece of hardware contributed to Highltet’s success, and one doesn’t just go and change printers after 25 years of glorious services. I especially think of the 400-page stock reports we print every Monday.
Moreover, it is important not to distress our staff, used to this dot matrix printer since 1982. That’s the way Highlet will remain Highlet.

These are great steps in the process of Unlearning the learnt.
Mocking at ourselves will help us to discover the weakness.
I wonder how much money was spent on a fake website...
This seems similar to ad campaigns other companies had several years ago
Yo, that band ROCKS!
If a dot matrix printer does the job and is cheap, hurrah for it. Better that than be conned into spending squillions on IT consulting firms to deliver a 'seamless solution' or similar rubbish.
oh oh ...
This type of output management strategy has proven to be good in the past and seems to still work! Hey - who needs their reports printed out quickly! This way you have time to grab a cup of coffee (or make that 10 cups concidering the speed of the printer!)
Hi
I particularly love the sound a dot-matrix printer makes... so relaxing :-)
